Looks like our friends at Google is breaking out another phone. The Nexus One received blessings from the FCC and is on it’s way to your pocket. The up-side is that Google has a reputation for coming out with great stuff but continuing work on it, listening to their client base, and turning the great stuff into amazing tools. The down-side is that Google doesn’t seem to have plans to partner with a carrier on this one, so, prices for this gem will probably be in the $1,000 range. This is normal in many countries but something that we in the U.S. are going to have to get used to. This may have some up-side to it too though. When we get used to purchasing our phones outside of our service contracts, carriers who provide horrible customer service like ATT, will be forced to step up to the plate with no phone deals to lock people into longterm contracts.

The Google Wave Rave.
If you’ve heard of Google’s new Wave tool, and you’re like me, you probably began to watch a 1hr 20min video and decided it just wasn’t worth it. Well, Google must have taken notice because a few days ago, they posted a new 7min 52second video highlighting some of the highlights of Wave without all of the background and hype to drag it out.
I’ve posted the video below along with the ways I foresee me using Wave in my day-to-day work and social networking.
Accountable Service Provider
In the last several months, I’ve had the opportunity to work on several sites that other individuals or companies have built. It seems that a common thread is moving through the industry, and it’s not pretty.
So, what’s the problem I see with web developers lately? Many web developers are using custom coding for the sites they’re building for clients. Or, when building with a common format, they are not allowing site management access to their clients. This allows the site builder to provide sub-par customer service while holding their clients captive and unable to make changes to the site. As you can imagine, this has many clients of these site builders fuming mad. When the site builder proves inefficient in maintaining the site, their clients are stuck with nowhere else to turn. Stuck waiting on their site builder to stop playing video games and make the changes or site upgrades they need.
